I have been doing 5K races, but have finally got the nerve up to do the Danskin Traithlon at Disney World this May 2010. I have heard of it over the years, but been a little hesitant to go for it. Last year I severely broke my ankle in multiple places and the surgeon who did my surgery (I now have pins, screws, brackets and a rod in place) didn't know if I would be able to run again. Well, a year later I am back doing 5K runs and realized it was a wake up call to me that if you want to do something, go for it! You never know what tomorrow brings! I am wondering when the registration starts for this? It seems it would be open by now, but I'm not finding any type of registration or info yet. Is this the correct website?

It's a great race for the seasoned racer, but it's a wonderful race for the first time triathlete. I started participating in the Austin Danskin Triathlon back in 2005 and have been back every year since then. During that first 2005 race I was inspired by a 72 yo woman I saw on the running portion of the race. I vowed right then to "Do the Danskin" every year until they end or I turn 72 (it's a while stil).
